New Delhi, Sep 26: Narendra Modi has his own style of doing everything. Be it conveying his message to the Muslim community that has not so positive perception of him or be it launching an attack on the Gandhi family, Modi always comes up with an ace up his sleeves. Even Congress was forced to follow in his footsteps after his interaction with commoners broke all records on Google hangout session. Sam Pitroda looked just an imitator when he interacted with netizens on twitter on behalf of UPA government.Narendra Modi has once again stolen a march over Congress so far as launching election for Gujarat assembly elections is concerned. Gujarat assembly elections can be held anytime this year and according to some media reports, Election Commission is contemplating of November-December as the most probable time for these crucial elections. Narendra Modi will be seeking people's mandate for third consecutive time which is a record of sorts.Narendra Modi launched his election campaign on Sep 11 which coincided with the day on which Swami Vivekanand had made a historic speech in Chicago world conference on religion in 1893. Modi not only launched his election campaign on this historic day but also designed it as a month long yatra and christened it as Vivekanand Yuva Vikas Yatra. Modi definitely wants to connect with the youths of the state reminding them of his admiration for the great champion of Hindu way of life.Modi's yatra did not forget to underline economic prosperity of Gujarat under his stewardship and decided to launch the yatra from Bahucharaji, a temple town near which a massive Maruti car plant will be built, and will end it a month later at Sanand, where the Tata Nano plant is located.The yatra is supposed to pass through all 182 Assembly constituencies of the state. Interestingly, Modi is using the same rath that Advani used for his anti-corruption jan Chetna Yatra last yatra. Modi plans to address around 150 rallies during this month long yatra.Modi, it seems, has decided to focus on three key messages that he wants to convey to his electorate – his developmental track record, the failures and dismal track record of Manmohan led UPA government and less than impressive image of Nehru - Gandhi family. Economic development of Gujarat under his leadership is something which he mentions religiously in all his campaigns.But It's his attack on Manmohan Singh led UPA govt and mother-son duo of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi that is making national headlines.Addressing a meeting in Rajkot, Modi took potshot at Rashid Alvi's claims of Rahul Gandhi being a national leader. Modi sarcastically said that Rahul is not only national but an international leader as well and that he can fight elections from Italy as well. Similarly, Modi was at his acerbic best while addressing a gathering in Bhuj. He castigated PM Manmohan Singh for allowing FDI in multi-brand retail. He blasted Manmohan for what he called total negation of democracy as defined by former US president Abraham Lincoln. Modi said Manmohan has converted Indian democracy into a government ‘of the foreigners, for the foreigners and by the foreigners'."Former US President Abraham Lincoln gave the world its famous definition of democracy -'of the people, by the people and for the people'-, but our Manmohan Singhji has given us a new definition, 'of the foreigners, by the foreigners, for the foreigners'," he said.Similarly, in his Bhavnagar address, Modi tried to forge a link between Govt's FDI decision and Sonia Gandhi's Italy connection."You (Prime Minister) are allowing foreign traders to enter India.....what would be the percentage of businessmen from Italy; the country wants to know.How many businessmen from Italy are going to take advantage of this? How many businessmen from Italy are going to come to India to run grocery stores?" asked Modi.Modi also ridiculed ManmohanSingh's statement that he would rather go down fighting for pushing economic reforms and sarcastically remarked, “Dr Manmohan Singh has overnight turned Singham." Modi further said that Manmohan has this habit of sounding like Singham, the character played by Ajay Devgan, for foreigners only.Modi reminded the audience that Manmohan turned Singham for the first when he was pressing nuclear treaty with US.And now he has hadened his stand once agin for FDI in multi-brand retail. Modi said Manmohan wants foreigners to conquer the trade inIndia and take away employment.Modi's yatra becomes significant in the face of challenges he is facing from both within and outside.While Congress is trying its best to take advantage of SC order on Naroda Patiya massacre by attacking his secular credentials, Modi is also going to be challenged this time vigorously by former BJP CM Keshubhai Patel. Not only this, Modi has soured his relationship with local RSS and VHP functionaries as well owing to differences on a host of issues. There is no denial of the fact that Modi is drawing huge crowds during his Vivekanand Yuva Vikas Yatra but whether the mammoth crowds will get converted into votes, will be known when results will be out later this year.Gujarat assembly has 182 seats and in the outgoing assembly, BJP has 117 MLAs while Congress has 59 MLAs.
