Dharmapuri (TN), Apr 4: Senior CPI-M leader Sitaram Yechury today said the victory of AIADMK-led front in the April 13 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections would lead to a major change in the national politics.
Expressing confidence of a landslide victory for the AIADMK front comprising the Left parties also, he told an election meeting at nearby Harur that the poll outcome would bring about a major change in national politics. The CPI-M poliburo member, however, did not elaborate.
Lauding the Election Commission for strict implementation of rules to prevent use of money power, he said barring the ruling DMK all others had welcomed the action.
Only because of the failure of DMK's efforts to bribe the voters, Chief Minister M Karunandhi was criticising the EC action and said that an emergency like situation prevailed in the state, he charged.
The EC's action was only aimed at conducting a free and fair election, he added.
Referring to the 2G spectrum scam, he said after former union telecom minister A Raja more persons would be charge sheeted in the case by the CBI.
He blamed the Congress-led UPA Government for the steep hike in the prices of essential commodities and said common people were the worst sufferers. PTI
