New Delhi: With Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls in the mind, the Narendra Modi government is planning to hold ‘World Ramayan Conclave’ in the second week of December in Ayodhya.
The Ministry of Culture has been asked to prepare the event framework which will be possibly organised in Ayodhya.
Representatives of at least 10-12 countries that are associated which the Ramayan will be invited to attend this mega conclave.
Sources said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Cabinet Ministers including BJP bigwigs may also attend this conclave.
Also the Ramayana museum in Ayodhya, which was announced last year by the government, is likely to be discussed in the meeting. The Centre had last year announced that it has begun the process of identifying the land to construct a Ramayan museum which would portray the epic journey of Lord Rama.
The BJP feels that the ‘World Ramayan Conclave’ just ahead of the Assembly polls in the most populous state of the country will send a positive message among the electorate. An Assembly election in the Hindi speaking state is due early next year.
The BJP is out of power in the state for 14 years now. Rajnath Singh was the last BJP Chief Minister in the state who ruled from 28 October 2000 to 8 March 2002.
The upcoming Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh will be the most crucial state poll that the BJP will face after registering a historic victory in 2014 general elections.
