New Delhi: With BJP training guns at Congress Vice president on the Rs 3600 crore VVIP chopper deal, Rahul Gandhi today said he is happy to be targeted.

"I am always being targeted, happy to be targeted," he told reporters.

BJP MP Kirit Somiaya has asked CBI and ED to "check" Rahul Gandhi's and his Political aide Kanishka Singh's links with Guido Haschke, one of the middlemen in the AgustaWestland scandal.

In a letter to the to investigative agencies, Somaiya said, Gandhi's links with a real estate developer allegedly involved in the CWG scam and also the alleged connections of a political aide of the Congress vice president with a middleman in the AgustaWestland deal should be checked.

“I had brought to your notice that Mr Haschke is common in both the scams. He is connected with Mr Michel who is involved in helicopter scam,” Somaiya wrote in the April 30 letter to the two agencies.

Referring to his earlier letters to the agencies, Somaiya said Guido Haschke, an alleged middleman in the chopper deal, is common in both the scams and that he is linked to Christian Michel, an accused in the VVIP choppers scam. "I would request you to check the cross connectivity and do the needful," he said.

Kanishka Singh, who is Rahul's aide, rejected as entirely baseless, false and with an ulterior political motive the allegations levelled by Somaiya against him.

Singh rejected the allegations saying, “Mr Somaiya has been making these false allegations with malafide intent since February 2013.”
