Twitter erupts as cameras catch Kejriwal ‘napping’ during PM Modi’s I-Day speech

It seems like Prime Minister’s Narendra Modi’s 94-minute Independence Day speech didn’t inspire Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as he was captured sleeping during the speech at the Red Fort.

It seems like Prime Minister’s Narendra Modi’s 94-minute Independence Day speech didn’t inspire Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as he was captured sleeping during the speech at the Red Fort.

While Twitterati took a jibe at the Aam Aadmi Party chief, Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister indicated that the reaction from Kejriwal couldn’t be helped, saying that ‘the speech was boring’.

PM Modi’s mammoth speech, in fact the longest Independence Day speech in history, included a strong message to Pakistan for favouring terrorism, along with a list of achievements and statistics.

In a marked departure, he even talked about Pakistan’s troubled province of Balochistan.

Meanwhile, other AAP leaders came to Kejriwal’s defence, alleging that BJP’s forefront leaders like Arun Jaitley and Manohar Parrikar were also caught dozing the address.

“Why media is so biased? Only targets AAP/Kejriwal? Jaitley/Parrikar sleeping, media not showing? Why? Why?,” AAP leader Ashutosh tweeted.

It’s not surprising that Kejriwal and his party members were not interested in PM Modi’s speech.

The 47-year-old Delhi Chief Minister has been at loggerheads with the Centre, accusing PM of snatching powers from the Delhi government. Last week, the Delhi High Court ruled against the AAP, directing that lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung will have the final word on the administrative control of Delhi.

Here are some of the tweets trolling the AAP chief:
