Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched a vigorous attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accused him of being 'incompetent'.
However, Rahul's dig has not gone down well with Union Minister for Textiles Smriti Irani who today took to Twitter to troll the Congress vice president.
"2G, Coal Scam, Common Wealth Games Scam, Augusta - Your definition of competence?" Irani said in a tweet.
Taking a jab at Congress scion for his 'ache din' comment - yesterday he said 'acche din' will only come in 2019 - Irani tweeted, "Is this an admission that decades of Congress rule in our country were not Acche Din?"
Irani also took a swipe at Rahul for saying that "for the first time in the country's history a Prime Minister of India is being ridiculed the world over". She asked if Rahul's tweet is "for (former PM) Shri Manmohan Singh?"
As of yet, Rahul has not responded to Irani's tweets.
Addressing a party convention here, Gandhi also charged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) with weakening the country’s constitutional institutions.
Dubbing the demonetisation move Modi’s “personal decision”, Gandhi said “world’s biggest financial experiment” was undertaken on the whims of the Prime Minister and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. “For the first time in history, the Prime Minister of India is being ridiculed [the] world over.”
