Former JD(U) president Sharad Yadav today expressed his unhappiness with Nitish Kumar’s decision to break away from the Grand Alliance and join ranks with the BJP again to form government. Quizzed over the happenings in the political landscape in Bihar, Yadav refused to comment on the developments, but hinted that ‘it will send a wrong message among people of Bihar’.

In a series of tweets, Yadav, who is the lone JD(U) MP in the Rajya Sabha, attacked the Fasal Bima Yojana of the Centre, terming it a ‘big failure’. If reports are to be believed, Yadav was probably not even kept in the loop by Nitish ahead of his decision to pull down the curtains on the 20-month-long Grand Alliance with his resignation.

“Fasal Bima Yojana is big failure as farmers are not aware about insurers but premium deducted from their loans, benefit goes to only insurers. Amongst others Fasal Bima Yojana is another unsuccessful scheme of d Govt through which only private insurance companies being benefitted,”

Earlier this morning, Kumar took oath as Bihar Chief Minister with BJP as partner of his Janata Dal (United), within 24 hours of quitting the Grand Alliance of which Congress and RJD were members. Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi administered the oath of office to Kumar and Sushil Kumar Modi at the Raj Bhavan here.
