A group of Lok Sabha members have requested Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to send Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann to a Rehab centre to cure him of his alleged drug-addiction.

They have also requested the Speaker to let Lok Sabha bear the expense for Bhagwant Mann’s treatment.

“Would be grateful if Bhagwant Mann is sent to a Rehab centre for drugs/alcohol de-addiction by LS on LS expenditure,” the MPs wrote in a letter addressed to the Lok Sabha Speaker.

The letter has been signed by  Lok Sabha members Prem Singh Chandumajra, Harinder Singh Khalsa and Mahesh Giri. While Chandumajra represents Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Harinder Singh Khalse is the suspended AAP MP in Lok Sabha, Mahesh Giri is a BJP MP representing East Delhi in LS.

Meanwhile, the nine-member panel probing the Parliament security breach video controversy is reportedly upset with Bhagwant Mann as it feels that the AAP MP is not taking the enquiry seriously.

The chairman of the panel Kirit Somaiya has said that the panel will consult Speaker Sumitra Mahajan for further action in this case.

The Lok Sabha Speaker had constituted a nine-member panel under the chairmanship of BJP MP Kirit Somaiya to probe the Parliament security breach video shot by AAP MP Bhagwant Mann. Mann had posted the video on Facebook which he deleted after he was accused of breaching the security of the parliament.

Mann had offered an unconditional apology for posting the video on Facebook although he had demanded action against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for putting India’s security in danger by allowing the visit of a Pakistani investigation team to Pathankot airbase for probing the terror attack.
