Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is regarded as someone who greets everyone with a smile. However, the Samajwadi Party chief on Monday lost his cool with a journalist when asked about the family feud and the party's humiliating loss in the recently concluded Assembly election.
Akhilesh had called press meet at 1 PM in Lucknow today but the event was cancelled at the last moment.
When he told the mediapersons that he would talk tomorrow, a television reporter asked the former CM about his views on his uncle Shivpal Yadav's reported statement on giving party chief post to his father Mulayam Singh Yadav.
At this, Akhilesh lost his cool at the reporter who was wearing a saffron shirt.
"He (the reporter) is new here. His colour is also saffron...I want to tell him and other journalists to fix any day in May, and I will answer all questions. But after that you should not ask any question about my family," an infuriated Akhilesh said.
"...Let us do politics. If the country is ruined, you (the reporter) will also not be there. The country is being ruined because of people like you," he said.
As per reports, Akhilesh's security guards also misbehaved with a senior journalist at the party office.
Following a bitter feud between the father and the son, Akhilesh had snatched reins of the party from Mulayam Singh just before the Assembly elections.
After the loss, Shivpal asked him to step down as the national president of the Samajwadi Party and embrace Mulayam Singh as the party chief.
