Amid the storm that has erupted in Tamil Nadu Politics following the rebellion by caretaker Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, alleging that he was compelled to resign from his post and humiliated while holding the high office, the leader has become a talking point on social media.
Paneerselvam, who had presented his resignation to the Governor on Sunday after Sasikala was chosen as the Legislative party leader by AIADMK MlAs, said he was compelled to leave from the post and would withdraw it if individuals, party men and MLAs said so.
The comment soon became one of most talked about topics on Twitter. Panneerselvam’s mantle of revolt came with all necessary political symbolisms. He began by silently taking a Samadhi (meditation) at late Jayalalithaa’s memorial for a full 45 minutes. He rose, wiping his tears, before lashing out at the AIADMK chief for forcing him out of power.
