Pakistan conspiring to divide India on religious lines: Rajnath Singh

Launching a scathing attack on Pakistan, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that ‘our neighbour’ is trying to create religious divide in the country.

Home Minister also said that Pakistan is trying to destabilise India by encouraging "cowardly" act of terrorism.

"A neighbouring country of our again and again encourages terrorism and terrorist activities to harm India. Perhaps it was not able to understand the fact that terrorism is not a weapon of the brave but of cowards," Rajnath Singh said while addressing a rally during Shahidi Diwas programme in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district.

"Pakistan is conspiring to divide India on religious lines but it won't succeed. India can't be divided again on religious lines again," he added.

Singh's comments come amid intense strain in Indo-Pak ties in the wake of Nagrota terror strike and intensified cross-border firing in Jammu and Kashmir.

Further referring to surgical strike by Army after the Uri terror attack, he said, "You have seen how they cowardly attacked our jawans but after that our jawans did a wonderful job. I want to assure that this government will never let India to bow its head before anyone".

“Pakistan attacked India four times since Independence but were given a befitting reply by the Indian army each time,” he said.
