Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi today defended his controversial ‘khoon ki dalali’ remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he will not support using Indian Army in political posters.

In a series of tweets today, Rahul Gandhi said that he supports the ‘surgical strikes’ carried out by Indian Army in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

However, he made it clear that he will not support any attempt to use Indian Army in political posters for spreading propaganda across the country.

“ I fully support the surgical strikes and I have said so unequivocally, but I will not support usingthe Indian Army in political posters and propaganda all across the country,” Rahul Gandhi tweeted.

On Thursday, the Congress vice-president had accused PM Modi of profiteering from the blood spilt by soldiers.

"Jinhone Hindustan ke liye surgical strike kiye hain, unke khoon ke peeche aap chhupe hain. Unki aap dalali kar rahe ho. Yeh bilkul galat hai. (You are hiding behind theblood of soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir and those who carried out the surgical strikes for India. You are exploiting their sacrifices, which is very wrong}," Rahul had said during a political rally in poll-bound UP marking the culmination of his month-long 'Deoria to Delhi kisan yatra'.

The BJP had taken strong exception to the ‘khoon ki dalali’barb of Rahul Gandhi and termed it "a new low in Indian politics".
