Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi today announced Punjab Cong president Capt Amarinder Singh as the party's chief ministerial face.
Kickstarting his three-day visit in Punjab with a rally in Majitha, the Gandhi scion said,"Captain Amarinder Singh will become CM if Congress comes to power."
Attacking the Shiromani Akali Dal leadership for pushing the state in debts, he said," Badal family helped their dear and near ones, but not the common people of the state."
Taking a swipe at PM Narendra Modi, Gandhi said: "The prime minister claims to fight against corruption,then how can he support Akali Dal?Whole nation knows it(Akali Dal) has ruined Punjab."
Reiterating his earlier claim that 70% of youth in Punjab are addicted to drugs, Gandhi said," We will bring such strong laws against drugs in the state that those involved will be scared of it."
Gandhi also took potshots at Aam Aadmi Party, saying: " People in Delhi will tell you whether Congress used to work better on AAP government is giving better governance. They change their statements more often then not."
