Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today inaugurate former President APJ Abdul Kalam’s memorial at Pei Karumbu in Tamil Nadu's Rameswaram on his second death anniversary.
The Prime Minister will unveil a statue of the former President at the memorial, a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said.
PM Modi will also hoist the national flag at the memorial which has been designed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to flag off an exhibition bus, named 'Kalam Sandesh Vahini', that would travel across various states of the country and reach Rashtrapati Bhavan on October 15, the birth anniversary of the former President.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also scheduled to address a public rally at Mandapam today.
