Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday greeted Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on his 47th birthday and wished for his "long and healthy life."
"Birthday greetings to the Congress Vice President, Shri Rahul Gandhi. I pray for his long and healthy life," Modi said in a tweet.
Rahul Gandhi, who is in Italy to see his 93-year-old maternal grandmother, will celebrate his birthday there.
Besides Modi, many senior leaders of the Congress party greeted Rahul on his birthday. It is expected that the Congress workers would cut a cake here for Gandhi.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also wished the Congress leader on his birthday.
"Birthday greetings to Rahul Gandhi. Wishing you happiness and good health for many, many years to come," she said in a tweet.
Rahul Gandhi thanked everybody who wished him on his birthday.
"Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes & messages. Truly grateful for the love, affection & support from each one of you," he said.
