The meeting called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to review Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to Pakistan has been postponed till next week.

The Prime Minister today chaired the meet of Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) over ceasefire violations by Pakistan along Line of Control.

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley are present at the meet.

The meeting is understood to have discussed various options related to the Line of Control (LoC) in the wake of the Uri attack.

Pakistani troops have also twice violated the ceasefire along the LoC since yesterday.

Pakistani troops today violated the ceasefire along the LoC in Naugam sector of Kashmir by opening indiscriminate fire towards Indian Army posts.

Reports said that Pakistan security personnel resorted to indiscriminate firing at Indian positions in the region.

“Firing took place at Danesh and Lakshmi posts in Naugam sector. Indian troops are effectively retaliating Pakistani firing. Exchanges are still going on in the area,” police said.
