Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today said he was pained at the death of Indian Army jawans while protecting all of us at the border.
"For every jawan who has lost his life, I always feel the pain; so, to that extent, I salute them for their courage, bravery...," Parrikar said when asked about the killing of soldiers along the Line of Control in recent times.
Parrikar, visiting Goa to inaugurate a multi-level parking complex in state capital Panaji, said the army headquarters regularly briefs him on the issue.
India-Pakistan border skirmishes intensified after Pakistani militants attacked a military base in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri, killing 19 Indian soldiers on September 18.
India shares 230 km of International Border and 740 km of LoC with Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir.
