The online petition against VK Sasikala’s elevation as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has received 1, 55,273 signatures so far.

The petition titled 'Dissolve Tamil Nadu government and stop Sasikala from becoming Tamil Nadu CM' has been posted on the website change.org .

The petition, submitted by Tamil Arasan PSR, will be delivered to President Pranab Mukherjee, Tamil Nadu Governor Vidyasagar Rao and the Chief Election Commissioner's office.

“Sasikala with many old money laundering cases, should not be allowed to lead an Indian state. Moreover she has no political experience and has been reason for many corruption activities while Jaya was CM,” the petition said.

“Almost the entire Tamil Nadu public hate Sasikala from becoming their CM, she is not an elected person. Is it not necessary to take public acceptance to become their leader,” it added.

The petition also demanded that either O Paneerselvam  should continue as CM or the current government be dissolved and fresh elections ordered.

AIADMK general secretary VK Sasikala was “unanimously” elected leader of the Legislature Party on Sunday, paving the way for her to become the third woman Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
