New Delhi: As the Narendra Modi government completed two years in office, it appears to be doing better on its foreign policy and tackling corruption than on its flagship 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' or its efforts to tackle black money.
According to the survey titled 'Rate My Government' on the official website of Prime Minister of India, that had registered over 23,000 respondents till Tuesday evening, 51 per cent of the participants gave a thumbs up to the efforts of the government in containing corruption while another 22 per cent gave it a four-star rating.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had invited people in May to rate the NDA’s various initiatives on the government portal mygov.in. Respondents were asked to evaluate 15 government programmes, with five stars being the highest rating.
Modi’s ambitious Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, or Clean India campaign, aimed at modernising sanitation got the top rating from only 33 per cent of the respondents.
However, when it came to efforts in tackling black money, only 29 per cent respondents gave the government five stars, and another 23 per cent gave it four stars.
The foreign policy of the BJP-led NDA government also appeared to be getting a thumbs up from the respondents, with more than 65 per cent giving it five stars.
The 'Make in India' campaign got five stars from 52 per cent respondents; 46 per cent gave five stars to improvement in ease of doing business.
For the government's efforts in improving quality of education, 34 per cent gave it five stars.
The deadline for the survey has been extended to June 10. It was earlier to end on June 5.
The website also has a quiz where 20 questions have to be answered in five minutes, and the winners will get a chance to meet the Prime Minister. The survey and the quiz began on May 25.
