Putting aside their political differences, SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav’s daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav and her husband Prateek Yadav today called on the new UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The brief meeting, which took place at the VVIP Guest House where the CM has been staying since his swearing-in, was described as a ‘courtesy call’ by the officials.

Aparna and Prateek arrived with a bouquet of peach roses. The couple spent about 30 minutes with the UP CM.

The meeting raised many eyebrows because during the poll campaigns the BJP had made personal attacks on SP by targeting Pateek and his businesses.

Aparna, also known as the ‘chhoti bahu’ in the Yadav family, had unsuccessfully contested the polls from Lucknow Cantt against BJP’s Rita Bahuguna Joshi. She had tied the knot with Prateek (28 )in 2011, who is a businessman and Mulayam’s younger son from his second wife.

This was not the first time Aparna’s bracketing with the BJP has drawn media attention. In past, the 26-year-old had openly admired Prime Minister Narendra Modi, raising questions within the family members. She was even seen clicking a selfie with PM Modi at a family function in October last year.

Meanwhile, BSP MLA Ramvir Upadhayay also called on the CM here.
