RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav today renewed his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the demonetisation drive, comparing him with ‘Uncle Podger’ - a character of a poem who does not allow anyone else to do a job and is unable to do anything quietly or without creating a mess.
In a series of tweets today, he said that the chaos created in the country after the PM’s November 8 decision to scrap Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes reminded him of a poem from Jerome K Jerome’s classic ‘Three Men in a Boat’.
Like the main character in the poem, Lalu said, Modi first didn’t include anyone, but soon he involved everyone and thus created a mess and blamed others for his mistake.
“During study days, read a poem "Uncle Podger hangs the picture". Demonetisation chaos reminded me of him striking similarities with Modi. Like Uncle Podger, Modiji boasts he needs no one, but soon employs everyone, creates mess, blames all-picture out of frame & himself out of scene,” he tweeted.
“Modi Ji, like Uncle Podger, over promises but under delivers. First promises to deliver everything on his own and then creates a mess for all,” Lalu said in another tweet.
Lalu has attacked the Prime Minister in past as well over the demonetisation move, asking him to explain who was responsible for the over 50 deaths due to the Centre's decision to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes.
Lalu had even reminded the Prime Minister of his ‘poll promise’ of giving people Rs 15 lakh each in their bank accounts after getting back black money to the country.
Earlier he had targeted PM Modi saying that he had protected his corporate friends while badly hitting the common people with the demonetisation. He had also then advised Modi to end his "nautanki" (drama) over demonetisation.
