Sehore: Rajendra Dadu, BJP MLA from Nepanagar, was killed on Thursday after his car met with an accident while going from Indore to Bhopal.
Dadu was coming to Bhopal to attend a party meeting at the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's residence ahead of the June 11 Rajya Sabha election.
Near Saikrakheri village in Sehore his car overturned and he died on the spot, a police officer said.
Madhya Pradesh Minister and cabinet spokesman Narottam Mishra confirmed Dadu's death.
He was 54 and survived by his wife, four daughters and a son, family sources said.
Dadu had won from Nepanagar (ST) seat for a second time.
State BJP president Nandkumar Singh Chouhan reached Sehore hospital soon after getting information about the mishap.
After learning about the incident, BJP legislature party's meeting was cancelled , party sources said.
