Political leaders of Tamil Nadu are infamous for going overboard in praising their respective leaders but this AIADMK leader has crossed all the limits by claiming that if Hillary Clinton wins US Presidential elections then she should first thank Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

And the reason, according to AIADMK MLA A Ramu, is that it was Jayalalithaa who inspired Hillary Clinton to contest  US presidential elections.

According to Ramu, Clinton's decision to contest presidential election was the outcome of a meeting between the two in July 2011 when she as US Secretary of State had visited India.

"Today, the world is celebrating this meeting for its historical importance. Through this meeting, Hillary Clinton understood Amma's personality and was awestruck by her proficiency in English and her encouragement. Finally, accepting the assuring words of Respected Amma, an overwhelmed US Secretary of State went back to become the presidential candidate. I would like to record that the reason for this is Respected Amma," Ramu claimed in the state Assembly.

A Ramu is a new entrant to AIADMK who joined the party in 2014.
