Sacked Delhi minister Kapil Mishra, who has been on a relentless tirade against Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, today slammed the Delhi Chief Minister’s justification on allegations of corruption levelled against him so far.

Breaking his silence days after Mishra levelled allegations of personal corruption against him, Kejriwal on Sunday claimed innocence saying he would have been in prison had there been any truth in the allegations.

Taking a dig at Kejriwal, Kapil Mishra today termed Kejriwal’s justification as part of his new avatar. Mishra further reminded Kejriwal that none of the people that the AAP had been targeting for corruption before it came to power were in prison.

“The new Kejriwal believes that if any person is not behind bars then he or she is not a culprit. And if one goes by his (Kejriwal's) logic, then Sheila Dikshit, Suresh Kalmadi are also not criminals,” said Mishra, adding that even gangster Dawood Ibrahim is out of jail but that did not make him innocent.

“According to new Kejriwal, 2G scam, Common Wealth Games (CWG), Coal scam didn't happen as nobody is behind the bars in connection with these cases,” he said.

In his response to the allegations of corruption levelled by Mishra, Kejriwal said that the “wild allegations” don’t merit a response as even his opponents were refusing to buy them.

According to Kejriwal, the reason he did not defend himself against Mishra's charges was because “they were nonsensical in the extreme and no one else had believed them either”.

Mishra has been firing salvos against Kejriwal, accusing him of taking Rs 2 crore from Health Minister Satyendar Jain and charging the AAP with "massive irregularities" in its funding with full knowledge of the chief minister.

On Friday, Mishra levelled a fresh charge against Kejriwal – this time over his alleged links to hawala operators and his purported attempts to cover it up.
