Dehradun: Following nine days of upheaval, president rule was on Sunday imposed in Uttarakhand. Ex-CM Harish Rawat will be meeting Governor Krishan Kant Paul today to discuss further crisis situation in the state. According to reports, Rawat is likely to ask the Governor to give him a chance to prove majority on the floor of the House.
Uttarakhand Speaker, Govind Singh Kunjwal, on Sunday disqualified 9 Congress legislators, who had rebelled against Harish Rawat-led government in the state. The decision to disqualify the nine legislators would reduce the effective strength of the 70-member assembly to 61.
However, it seems Digit '9' has something to do with the ongoing crisis in the state.
Here is the trivia:
All it started on 18 March: 1+8 = 9
No. of rebel Congress MLAs: 9
Artcle 144 imposed in state: 1+4+4 = 9
27 march, the date president rule imposed: 2+7 = 9
Year 2016, 2+0+1+6= 9
Next chief minister will be the ninth in state.
