Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today visit Patna to attend the closing function of the 350th ‘Prakash Parv’ -- commemorating 350th birth anniversary of Guru Govind Singh, at Gandhi Maidan here.
“Delighted to be a part of 350th Prakash Parv celebrations of Guru Gobind Singh ji in Patna today,” the PM tweeted this morning.
As per the schedule, the Prime Minister will take part in several programmes at Gandhi Maidan, where makeshift Gurudwara has been set up and Holy Gurugranth Sahib has been installed in view of the celebrations.
He will also release special commemorative stamps on ‘Prakash Parv’.
Besides PM Modi, Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal several Union Minsters including Ravi Shankar Prasad , Ram Vilas Paswan and other dignitaries will participate the ‘Prakash Parv’ celebrations.
The 350th birth anniversary of the 10th and last Sikh Guru is being celebrated across the country.
The state government has made elaborate arrangements, from tent cities to beautification drive, to host a sea of people, who have descended in the Bihar capital, from all parts of the country to pay obeisance to the 10th Sikh Guru at his birthplace.
While most of the 'sangats' have reached Patna, many are reaching there today, as the celebrations culminate after weeks of grand festivities.
Gurudwaras, from small to big, have been lit up and display banners of the 350th birth anniversary. The capital is home to a huge population from the Sikh community.
In Delhi, major gurudwaras including Sisganj Gurdwara in Chandani Chowk, Moti Bagh Gurudwara and those in south Delhi at Lajapt Nagar are decked up for the occasion.
