New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reminded the visiting Thailand PM Prayut, Chan-o-cha that the two countries share a common cultural heritage.
“From the Legend of Rama to the Wisdom of Buddha our ties are founded on a shared cultural heritage,” PM Modi said while jointly addressing the media with Thailand Prime Minister.
Thailand Prime Minister Chan-o-cha is presently in India on a three-day visit.
PM Modi further said that the completion of the India-Myanmar-Thailand highway was New Delhi's top-most priority to improve access to Southeast Asia.
“We have prioritized completion of Trilateral highway and early signing of Motor Vehicles Agreement with Thailand and Myanmar,” PM Modi said.
“The convergence of Thailand's 'Look West' and India's 'Act East' policy lights the path to a bright future of our partnership,” he added.
PM Modi further said that to commemorate 70 years of relations with Thailand, there would be a Festival of Thailand in India and a Festival of India in Thailand.
He also said that Indian constitution will be translated in Thai language.
PM Modi also announced that a double entry visa will be facilitated to Thai citizens.
