Former Bihar chief minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha head Jitan Ram Manjhi quit the ruling-National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Wednesday. The leader is likely to join Grand Alliance in the state.
The announcement came after Manjhi held a series of meetings with the Yadav family. According to reports, HAM chief first held a meeting with former Bihar CM Rabri Devi, followed by her sons Tejaswi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav.
Majhi and Tejaswi are expected to hold a press conference at 8 pm today, where he is likely to announce that his party will join Grand Alliance.
Earlier in the day, the Yadav brothers also held meetings with RJD's senior leaders like Bhola Yadav and Bhai Virendra.
Manjhi has been reportedly miffed at NDA for being ignored. After being overlooked for the ticket in the recent Jahanabad bypolls, Manjhi had refused to participate in the election campaign.
