New Delhi: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat today reiterated that India is a 'pluralist' democracy and as long as ‘this view of religion exists here, the world will continue to respect this country’.

He said that different religions, castes may exist in India, but "we all are Indians and, at the end, every Indian will say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’".

“India stands for one nation with vast cultural and religious diversities. In spite of these all pluralities, we all are Indians and we all will always chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’,” he said.

“For us, nationalism is not a subject of controversy. We don’t create controversy on this, it is eternal. Even if you deny, it exists,” he added.

The RSS chief had in past stirred a controversy with his remark that the younger generation needed to be taught to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

He further lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to the joint session of the Congress, describing it as ‘insightful’.

“Our Prime Minister delivered a brilliant speech before the US Congress yesterday, displaying the might of India to the world's most powerful nation, USA. His speech reflected that now India has emerged as a superpower and the whole world needs India's support," Bhagwat said.

The world had now recognised and realised the power and need for India, he added.

The Prime Minister yesterday addressed the US Congress and hit all the right chords as he talked about all key issues including terrorism, future of Indo-US ties, climate change, intellectual property rights, Yoga, South China Sea, defence and security cooperation to trade.

The 45 minute speech was laced with humour and was interrupted by 53 rounds of applause and 9 standing ovations.
