Ruling out any alliance with either the DMK or the AIADMK, actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan has hinted that his outfit Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) may join hands with the Indian National Congress ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

In an interview to Thanthi TV, Kamal Haasan said that he will do whatever will be in the interest of the people of Tamil Nadu.

“I don't know. We have to talk to them. We have to see if it suits Tamil Nadu. All I'm going to ask is what good they will for the people of Tamil Nadu. The evidence for whatever has been done thus far, is very little,” Kamal Haasan told Thanthi TV.

Kamal Haasan said that he would be contesting the 2019 Lok Sabha elections though he ruled out any truck with DMK and AIDMK, saying both these parties needed to be isolated.

He also asserted Dravidianism is not the ancestral property of Dravidian parties in the state but belonged to all.
