Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has advised Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann not to attend the Parliament until a decision is taken on his controversial parliament security breach video.

Sumitra Mahajan has also granted extension of two weeks to the nine-member parliamentary panel which is probing the video.

The panel headed by BJP MP Kirit Somaiya informed the Lok Sabha Speaker on Monday that the video shot by Bhagwant Mann showing Parliament's security pickets constituted a serious violation which exposed the security apparatus while he was offering a running commentary on what was being recorded.

The panel has reportedly also expressed its unhappiness over Mann being unrepentant over his behaviour.

According to some media reports, the probe panel has asked Bhagwant Mann to explain if he made the recording at the behest of any particular person or on any party directive.

Interestingly, a group of three Lok Sabha MPs had yesterday urged the Lok Sabha Speaker to send Bhagwant Mann to a rehab centre for drug de-addiction and allow him to attend the proceedings of the house only after that.

The three MPs included Prem Singh Chandumajra of Shromani Akali Dal (SAD), Harinder Singh Khalsa, the suspended AAP MP and Mahesh Giri of BJP.

They also urged the Speaker to let Lok Sabha bear the entire cost of Mann’s treatment at the rehab centre.
