At a time when BJP and Congress are engaged in war of words over Indian Army’s surgical strikes across the LoC, veteran BJP leader LK Advani choose to remain silent on the operation which took place on September 28 night.
Speaking to reporters here, Advani said that he does not want to comment on the surgical strikes as many leaders have already spoken about it.
“Many leaders have already spoken about the surgical strikes. I do not want to comment on it,” he told journalist on the sidelines of a wedding ceremony here.
The surgical strikes by the Indian Army on terrorist launch pads in PoK triggered a political slugfest between the ruling party, BJP and the main Opposition Congress ahead of the forthcoming Assembly polls in several states.
While the BJP sees it as an opportunity to boost its prospects in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat (where assembly polls will be held early next year), the Congress has been targeting the former by demanding proof of the operation.
