Dimple Yadav, a Samajwadi Party MP and wife of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, today slammed the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and alleged that it lacked both vision and direction.
Dimple, Lok Sabha MP from Kannauj, said that the budget neglected two important sections of the society – women and farmers.
“I am not satisfied with this budget. It is directionless and lacks vision to transform the country,” Dimple said.
“This government has neglected the farmers, youths and especially the women of the country. There is nothing in the budget for them,” she added.
Responding to a question on the upcoming UP Assembly elections, Dimple said that the SP-Congress alliance would easily form the next government in the state with a clear majority.
Dimple Yadav also said that she was ready to hold a joint rally with Priyanka Gandhi but added that the party will take a final call in this regard.
“The party will take a call. As and when when I am asked, I am ready for it,” she said.
