Sidelined AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran said on Monday that party leader and his aunt V K Sasikala has sought a 15-day parole to meet her ailing husband M Natarajan.

Natarajan, undergoing treatment at a corporate hospital here for liver problem, was "stable" and was awaiting liver transplantation, Dhinakaran told reporters here.

"We have applied for the parole of 'General Secretary' (Sasikala). She will get permission for sure. The (Karnataka) Prisons Department will decide on the number of days the parole will be given for," he said.

Asked how many days Sasikala had applied for, Dhinakaran said her "advocate has said she wanted 15 days".

Currently lodged at Parappana Agrahara jail in Bengaluru, Sasikala was convicted and sentenced to a four-year prison term in the Rs 66.6-crore disproportionate assets case.

Natarajan has been undergoing treatment at the corporate hospital for the past few days.

Asked about his demand of a CBI probe into former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s death, Dhinakaran said he was not sure about the state government’s inquiry commission led by a retired judge to probe into the death.

“We want a CBI probe. Only then, former chief minister O Panneerselvam and other ministers, who are now coming with contrary views on the accessibility to the ailing leader, will be investigated properly,” he said.

He alleged that the Edappadi K Palaniswami government had turned treacherous and would be sent home shortly.
