Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today threw his weight behind Health minister Satyendra Jain rubbishing charges of his involvement in a Hawala transfer.
Claiming that Jain has been framed, the Delhi CM further said that he will make a big exposé regarding false charges against AAP MLAs in the Delhi Assembly on Friday.
Kejriwal on Tuesday tweeted, “I summoned Satinder this morning. Saw all papers. He is innocent and is being framed. If he were guilty, we would have thrown him out. We stand by him.”
He added that the recent “false cases gainst AAP MLAs and ministers,” FIR against him and a CBI raid are all a “controversy” (conspiracy, he meant), which he shall expose on Friday in the Delhi Assembly.
Jain also dismissed the allegations saying that he has dissociated himself with the companies, for which he is being investigated, before entering politics. Jain also said that he has been called in as a witness so there is no question of charges.
He also said that what Income Tax department is doing is an assessment rather than investigation.
According to the IT Department, four companies of Jain have illegally transferred Rs. 17 crore while he received cheques issued to these companies.
He is alleged to have used that money to buy properties near unauthorised colonies.
Four companies belonging to Jain are under I-T scanner are - Indo metal impax, Akinchan developers Pvt Ltd, Paryas Info solution and Manglyatan projects.
As a proof of wrongdoing, the tax officials have recorded statement of Kolkata’s hawala accused Jeevendra Mishra.
Mishra has mentioned Jain’s illegal money transfers in his statement. Five years’ Income Tax Returns have also revealed wrongdoings.
The tax officials are investigating three cases of wrongdoings against the AAP leader.
Jain is the fourth minister of the Kejriwal government against whom serious allegations have been levelled.
Former Law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar was sent to jail on the charges of holding forged law degree while Asim Ahmed Khan was sacked after corruption charges were levelled against him.
Another minister Sandeep Kumar was sacked from the cabinet after his sex clip surfaced.
