The Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) has summoned Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia for questioning in the case of illegal recruitments at the Delhi Commission for Women, an official said on Friday.

Sisodia will have to appear before the anti-graft unit on October 14. The summons were sent on Thursday evening.

"ACB on Thursday summoned Manish Sisodia to appear before it on October 14 for questioning regarding the illegal recruitments at the DCW," Special Commissioner Of Delhi Police Mukesh Kumar Meena, who also heads Anti Corruption Branch, told IANS.

The ACB had earlier twice questioned DCW Chairperson Swati Maliwal. An FIR was also registered against her.

The FIR was lodged under Section 3 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, apart from Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 409 (criminal breach of trust by a public servant) of the Indian Penal Code, following a complaint filed on August 12 by former DCW chief Barkha Singh Shukla in connection with the illegal recruitments.

The ACB had been probing the matter for the last two-three months and based on the questioning of Maliwal's employees, it was found that due procedure was not followed in appointments.

A total of 91 appointments were found to be made without allegedly following due process.
