The Congress party today agreed with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat that there is a need to differentiate between real and fake gau rakshaks (cow vigilantes).

Reacting to Bhagwat’s statement, Congress spokesperson Meem Afzal said, "Yes, I agree that there are some people who have created tensions in the name of gau raksha. In fact, the same thing has been reiterated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but no action has been initiated by the administration."

In his annual Vijayadashami address, the RSS chief today said that we should differentiate between the real ‘gau rakshaks’ and the fake ones in view of the fact that attempts are being made by certain forces to mislead the entire nation.

"We need to be careful against these divisive forces. We need to unite society so that such elements do not take advantage," Bhagwat said.

The Congress spokesperson also agreed with the RSS chief’s assertion that the entire Kashmir including Gilgit-Baltistan belongs to India.

"The country is growing. There are some countries in the world who don't want to see India progress. They ,at times, get support from people within. Kashmir is a serious concern. The commitment of our government is clear that Kashmir is an integral part of India and so is Gilgit-Baltistan," Bhagwat said.

Seconding Bhagwat’s statement, Meem Afzal said,” the Congress has always believed that all of Kashmir belongs to India.”
