New Delhi: The Supreme Court today ordered a floor test in Uttarakhand Assembly on May 10.

It has paved the way for ousted Chief Minister Harish Rawat to prove his majority on the floor of the house.

The Supreme Court has ordered that the floor test will be undertaken between 11-11:30am on May 10.

The President's rule will be suspended for two hours to facilitate this floor test. The court has also asked the entire proceedings to be video recorded.

The court has also asked the principal secretary of Uttarakhand Assembly to supervise the floor test.

The apex court, however, debarred the 9 disqualified Congress MLAs from participating in this floor test.

Earlier, the Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi  informed the Supreme Court that the central government is ready for floor test in Uttarakhand Assembly.

Mukul Rohatgi, however, requested the Supreme Court to appoint an observer to supervise the floor test.

The Attorney General also requested the apex court to ensure that there should be only one agenda before the Assembly when it is convened for the floor test.

He also asked the Supreme court to appoint a retired Chief Election Commissioner as its observer for the floor test.

On 4th of this month, the Attorney General had informed the court that the government was seriously considering court's suggestion to hold floor test in Uttarakhand Assembly. He had said that the central government will take a final decision in this regard by Friday.
