New Delhi: On a day when AAP led Delhi government is facing the real test of its ambitious odd-even plan,BJP leader Vijay Goel was fined for flouting Traffic norms.
The Rajya Sabha member was fined Rs 3500, which included Rs. 2000 for violating Odd-Even scheme, Rs. 500 for not carrying Driving License and Rs 1000 for not having insurance papers
In a bid to convince Goel, Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai also reached his residence and offered him rose.
Goel said his protest was against “political posturing” by AAP which he alleged is using odd-even scheme’s advertising budget to “plaster Kejriwal’s photo everywhere”.
Goel had eariler announced that he would not follow the odd-even rule declaring it as a publicity stunt by the AAP government.
A fine of Rs 2000 is too high and it should be reduced. Those exempted are happy, but those who are not, are facing a tough time. People have to buy two cars," Goel said.
All offices, schools and other institutions reopened today after the extended weekend.
