The 105th Bihar Divas today comes with some welcome news for the students in the state. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to launch a programme to provide free WiFi facilities in colleges and universities today to mark the occasion.
The foundation day of this eastern state, which falls on March 22, is also known as Bihar Sthapana Diwas. It was on this day when the British carved out the state from Bengal Presidency in 1912.
The Bihar Sthapana Diwas is being celebrated at grand scale across the state, especially after Nitish Kumar took over as the CM of the state in 2005.
According to Kumar, providing free WiFi services was one of the ‘seven resolves’ of good governance.
“It is an era of internet and youth need it to download knowledge materials on the regular basis. So, the government has decided to provide free WiFi facilities to all colleges and universities of the state for facilitating the same,” Kumar had said.
As reported by news agency PTI, the state government has established several incubation centres in different educational institutions in the state to help young entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today extended his greeting to people on the occasion of Bihar Day.
“On the occasion of Bihar day, I offer my heartiest greetings to the people of Bihar,” the PM said in a tweet.
