Chennai: AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa on Thursday unveiled a string of freebies in her party manifesto promising mobile phones to all 1.92 crore ration card holders,  50 per cent subsidy for women to buy scooters, eight grams of gold for women getting married, hundred units of free power for households every two months and free Wi-Fi at public places.

With anti-incumbency wave gaining ground, Amma is going all out to woo first-time voters and women who form her core constituency.

After the last election, she had distributed free laptops to class 11and 12 students. Now they have been promised free internet connectivity.

Addressing a massive gathering of over a lakh in Erode’s Perundurai, Jayalalitha said, “A mother knows the need of her children. You will be getting many more schemes and services during my government.”

"I have fulfilled all the promises made in the last election. This time I'll do more than you can imagine (if returned to office)," she said.

DMK's Karunanidhi had announced tablets for 16 lakh school students and smartphones for the poor.He had also promised power subsidies, lower milk prices and a waiver on educational and farm loans

Jayalalithaa, who decided to release the party's poll manifesto two weeks after her rival DMK rolled out its poll promises,  has incorporated most of these, and gone a few steps ahead.

In 2011, she had a similar manifesto, outdoing her rivals in the last leg of the campaign.
