Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah today condemned Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s “Khoon ki dalali” remark and said that it was “shameful” and an insult to the Indian Army.
“Just want to ask Rahul Gandhi, is ‘dalali’ a word to refer to Indian Army and their efforts to save the country?” Amit Shah said.
Amit Shah said that Rahul Gandhi’s irresponsible statement will only demoralise the Indian Army.
“Rahul Gandhi crossed all limits yesterday. He has insulted Indian Army. Who did ‘dalali’ in 2G, Bofors and coal scam?” Amit Shah asked.
“The blood of Indian Army is invaluable. Rahul Gandhi’s remarks reflect the mentality of the Congress. Don't use the word 'dalali' with BJP. It behoves your party the best,” he added.
The BJP chief further said that the people of India are not perturbed by the irresponsible statements of politicians and that they are fully standing behind the Indian Army.
“Whole nation, Government of India and BJP support Indian Army; we believe in army’s bullets, not politicians' statements,” Amit Shah said.
He said that those who are demanding proofs of surgical strikes are demeaning the Indian Army.
“Some parties are raising question on surgical strike. I think that demeans the Army's success, it aims to politicise the issue, Shah said.
He added that the government never wanted to politicise the issue and that’s why the DGMO addressed the press conference to share the news of surgical strikes carried out by Indian Army.
“Government tried to keep this as far from politics as possible. In fact, it was DGMO who spoke at the press conference. Who do you doubt? Do you doubt the intentions and actions of soldiers? This politicising is condemnable,” he said.
“Some parties have not only insulted our army but the soldiers who lost their lives as well,” he added.
Amit Shah also targeted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for asking the Modi government to come clean on Pakistan’s refusal regarding the surgical strikes.
“Soon after Kejriwalji made statement on surgical strike, he started trending in Pakistan. Soon after, Rahulji talked of 'dalali',” Amit Shah said.
“The uproar that is happening in Pakistan is enough proof of the surgical strike, the sceptical political parties can analyse that. People who want to have a proof should go and take analysis of what is happening in Pakistan, they will learn a lot,” he said.
“If surgical strikes didn’t happen, why was a special session called in Pakistan? Why is the Pakistani PM constantly in Islamabad?” he asked.
The BJP chief agreed that it would be wrong to take political mileage of surgical strike. However, he made it clear that the BJP will go to the people giving details of the Army’s successful operation.
“I agree taking political mileage of surgical strike is not right but we will go to people about the success of the Indian army,” Amit Shah said.
Amit Shah’s attack on Rahul Gandhi comes a day after the Congress vice-president accused PM Modi of profiteering from the blood spilt by soldiers.
"Jinhone Hindustan ke liye surgical strike kiye hain, unke khoon ke peeche aap chhupe hain. Unki aap dalali kar rahe ho. Yeh bilkul galat hai. (You are hiding behind theblood of soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir and those who carried out the surgical strikes for India. You are exploiting their sacrifices, which is very wrong}," Rahul had said during a political rally in poll-bound UP marking the culmination of his month-long 'Deoria to Delhi kisan yatra'.
