Weeks before the declaration of code of conduct, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today launched over 300 projects worth over Rs 60,000 crore.
New premises of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, international cricket stadium, OPD of Rs 983 crore Cancer Hospital in CG city, Sanskriti School for IAS officers' children and some PWD projects are among the 300 schemes that were launched today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that his government initiated all projects under the development programme and that most of them are now over.
Attacking the BJP over demonetisation move, he said, “We did a lot of work for development but there are parties which change target of their surgical strikes every 15 days. First they tried to encash on love jihad, now currency ban.”
The Chief Minister also expressed onfidence that the Samajwadi Party will get second term in the state.
“Today is a very big day for Samajwadi people. We are ready to face election,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister will also distribute Rani Laxmibai Award to more than 300 women and also the Yash Bharti honour (third time in a year) later in the day.
Uttar Pradesh will go to polls early next year.
