8. Before Benazir Bhutto's swearing as the Prime Minister of an Islamic country in 1988, an Islamic scholar, Mohammed Amin Minhas quoted Prophet Mohammed to oppose her anointment.
He said, “A nation that elects to be governed by a woman will not prosper.”
After she was administered the oath of office, Mohammed Minhas took a complete u-turn.
He then said, “Allah has given us this woman as our leader, and Miss Benazir has acknowledged that this new power she possesses is, indeed, Allah's gift,” he said.
All those who opposed Benazir's elevation found themselves defeated by that fearless woman who claimed to get her strength from God.
