World Economic Forum nominated her as Young Global Leader 2013 for her hard work in Pakistan's General Elections.

Maryam wants India and Pakistan's bitterness to come to an end. She had once tweeted  “Why India and Pakistan have to be the prisoners of the past? Should bury the enmity & start afresh.”
