Jokowi has many achievements to his credit.  He is credited with finally starting a mass transit railway for Jakarta, a growing mega-city struggling with infrastructure problems.

Jokowi's critics point out that as Indonesian President, he will face major challenges on foreign policy front because he has no prior experience of handling diplomacy. They point out that Widodo may end up as Megawati Sukarnoputri's “puppet”. Jokowi, however, has strongly refuted such speculations.

What is interesting is that despite being a Javanese by descent, Jokowi nominated veteran politician Joseph Kalla – from south Sulawesi- as his running mate. It goes on to reflect his all-inclusive approach in politics.
