Jokowi "has a penchant for loud rock music" and once owned a bass guitar signed by a member of heavy-metal band Metallica.

In May 2013, the rock band Metallica had sent Jokowi a bass guitar autographed by Rob Trujillo. He was, however, forced to give up his prized possession in a controversial decision after it was declared state property by the Corruption Eradication Commission.
