There are a few similarities between Jokowi and Narendra Modi , the Indian Prime Minister. Both come from humble backgrounds having spent their childhood in poverty.

Both proved their mettle once they were elected to the public office. Both caught the imagination of the poorer sections of the society and emerged victorious in the elections to top posts in their respective countries.

Both are looked upon as lacking experience in foreign policy. Both are not so fluent in English. Despite all these disadvantages because of their almost similar financial background, political observers believe that both of them has the potential of making a difference to the lives of their fellow countrymen.
