Gandhi's attack came after a media report claimed that "not a single rupee of the said Rs 1 lakh crore has come to HAL, since not a single order, as claimed, has been signed till now".
Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera levelled the allegation at a press conference held at the party's headquarters in New Delhi on Sunday, a day after Sitharaman rebutted the Congress' charges on the deal, and accused the rival party of spreading "falsehood" on the issue.
She accused the Congress of compromising with national security in the interest of the party's "treasury" while deciding on buying 126 fighter jets.
"The matter is sub-judice, I won't say anything on it," Congress president Rahul Gandhi said.
"In addition to corruption, the PM should be investigated for weakening national security by giving the Rafale contract to his friend and international debt master, Anil Ambani," Gandhi tweeted.
“Give me a ministry and I will bomb all such people, not even one will be spared,” he added.
