The last time the moon came this close to the earth was in 1948 so naturally yesterday’s Supermoon was a big event around the globe. Yesterday night, the moon was only 356,509 kilometers away from the earth which led NASA to coin the term “an extra-Supermoon” for this rare sighting. People from around the globe took to high-rise buildings, tourist landmarks and beaches to catch a glimpse of the Supermoon. Asia was the first to see the phenomena that send astronomy enthusiasts and photographers to the best viewing experience.
